Duplicate Poker Goes DonkDown.

6 October 2008 No Comment

In some surprising news, Duplicate Poker has officially announced the closing of its doors as of this week.

The site, which was the first of its kind in terms of a true poker skill game, was one of the few U.S.-based poker sites that allowed 100% approval for its depositors.  It had seen some rising growth and popularity as of late with some aggressive marketing campaigns and free cash giveaways.  Duplicate also had some pretty cool freeroll schedules and offered great customer service as well.

Here is the email I received regarding their immediate shutdown, one that also was send out to thousands of other loyal Duplicate Poker players:

“Duplicate is sadly bidding farewell to its players. Caught in the middle of the global financial situation the company is not able to continue to provide service. We are a small victim of the global financial crisis.

Regretfully as of the today, October 5th, 2008 we are closing our service. We thank our players for being with us. Hopefully at later time and in a better economic climate Duplicate Poker will re-appear.”
Sincerely,

The Duplicate Poker Team
