Poker and Love - 2 of a Kind.

In an innovative move by an online poker room, PKR.com has partnered with Lovestruck.com to help further both brands in the UK market. The announcement was made today, and provided details of the agreement, which will involve online events at PKR.com as well as live events in London. Participants in the events can both play online poker for fun or for real money, as well as meet new singles in the UK area.

The first event will be a live singles poker night, and will be held in London. The event will consist of a practice poker tournament where singles can learn the game while meeting new people. It’s a play money event, so even if you’ve never played before it will be great practice for the future meet ups. This first event is scheduled to be held on November 6th at The Hoxton Pony club in London. To attend this event, you just have to sign up at Lovestruck.com and RSVP that you’ll be attending.

After the first event, there will be a series of weekly singles poker nights held at the PKR.com poker site. The events will start off with a practice tournament on November 17th, and will be followed up by three low buy-in real money tournaments. The practice tournament will get players ready for the real money tournaments, where they can meet more people and show off their newfound poker skills for potential friends. To participate in the “Lovestruck Evenings”, players have to be registered at both PKR.com and Lovestruck.com, and will then be provided the password for the games.

The agreement looks to be a solid partnership for both brands, as both websites focus their efforts on the UK market, and especially London, where the live meet-up will be held. Also, since poker is such a social game, it should be the perfect medium for singles to meet each other in a low pressure environment.
